quick engine bay question

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what size badge fits the engine cover? Is it the same as front and rear?

Also, are there bolt covers for the engine cover?

Im trying to get the car back to near-perfect condition. Well atleast as much as car with 100k miles on the clock can be :)

There aren't bolt covers, just the plastic spring-lock bolts that go in the holes. And the engine top badge is bigger than the front and rear badges IIRC, it has a black plastic edging around the Skoda logo. I think the VRS's and L&K's had the badge in colour but others had it in plain black plastic.

Later vRS came with the black one too. they are not cheap I dont think.

Mine is an 05 vRS and had black. I managed to get a mint 52 one with the proper coloured badge. I did at first just tiger seal a bonnet badge on to my other. only thing with that is they are not 100% flat so there is a mm or 2 gap in the middle.

loked ok tho.

Thanks for the replies, do you guys think a dealer might be able to get it as a spare part?

At the moment you can see the bolts that you undo to remove the engine cover. I was under the impression there was meant to be a little plastic cover on top of these.

Its a TDI if it makes a difference - i think the badge is the same on all of them though.

Also that engine bay is very nice, hopefuly mine will end up like that but it needs a serious polish and a little bit of a respray on the front edge. The plastic was detailed by the garage i bought the car from!
