Fog light removal?

Featured Replies

So I have a bit of subtle tint film left over from my headlight fail, and I wanted to wrap the front fogs on my vRS. I have just spent a maximum of 15 minutes accessing, removing, wrapping and replacing the front fogs on swmbo's Golf GT, but for the life of me I can't see an easy way to remove the ones on the vRS!!! Please don't tell me it's a bumper off job???

Hello there, having found out that my front passenger side fog lamp was smashed in I've proceeded to try and buya replacement and can't get one anywhere!

However, I have asked the chap who normally services my car (he's an ex-VAG mechanic) this very same question and I believe that for it to be an 'easier' job you need to remove the front bumper cover.

I have also read somewhere that apparently you can remove a fog lamp by removing the trim underneath the front of the car and approach from under the wing. I haven't tried this yet but intend to as soon as I can source a front fog lamp!

Should you find out first please could you post on here and I'll do the same.

Tbh mate, I'm not going to such extreme lengths just to wrap a bit of film on a fog light

It's ironic that it takes under a minute to remove an Octavia mk2 headlight, whereas to remove the mk5 headlight you have to take off the bumper, but the opposite can be said for the fogs......
