Hello all! Ponty from Bermuda here. Your site(our site) has been very helpful to me over the last year of owning a Fabia 1.4 DOHC AUTO year 2000.

I would like to post my first question...Recently, my car my car looses all power and acceleration when driving - (it often seems when going up a slight incline)

When I come to a stop, the engine and lights are still on, but there is no acceleration/revs. When I switch it off and on again all works well until next time.

Reading very similar accounts on the forum, the MAF was often the culprit.BUT...does the 1.4 DOHC have an MAF? The air filter is integral in the black engine cover.

If it dosen't have an MAF, do you have any other clues?
