Rear parcel shelf side panel speakers

Featured Replies

Previous owner used to carry dogs in the back of my vrs, I've got some replacement parcel shelf trims but need some speakers for them as the standard ones are shot.

I used to have quiet a sound system in car my car a few years back but there is a few more brands about now, i had a set of infinity 6x9's in my corsa and they were fantastic for money, better than the audiobahns i had in bootlid of my volvo

Anybody got any suggestions on decent set without breaking the bank, they might be getting amp'ed up at a later date as i still have my amps

You could make yourself an mdf shelf and fit 6x9s again, done it a few times

Is yours an Estate or hatch ?

lol good question! Just assumed with parcel shelf trims it was a hatch lol

Yeah its a hatch, 13cm speakers in side panals that parcel shelf sits on

I've got a set of 6x9's in a draw somewhere

Get some mdf and make a shelf, mount the speakers underneath and put speaker cloth over the top. Sorted lol

Problem is with that setup is a lot of the sound will be coming from behind you. To get a proper soundstage I would recommend spending more on the fronts, uprating, matting and amping those instead.

Gotta agree with liverpool lad... Spend most u can on front end and amp em, i'v always disliked 6x9s. But they can be used as a compromise for some bass if you aint runnin a sub...

Yep totally agree with Liverpool lad. I've amplified my front components and sub. My rears are running from the head which is enough for some rear fill.

I've got the new panels so just want something half decent to put in them before i replace them with whats in car as once the panels are in trying to screw speakers to the bottom of them is a complete pain so if i do it before i put them in it makes my life easier

I will get round to components etc in front and sub in back eventually but got a few bits i want to do first

just alot of new makes of audio gear about since i last bought any so wondered if any of them were anygood
