Guys...

Bottomed out my VRS on a farm track at adrenaline paintball in n/yorks (be careful if you go there) ever since a horrible vibration from cold. When i looked the shield underneath the cat is flapping to the rear and appears to be held on with clips.Are the clips replaceable? can i remove it or have it welded. Your comments and experiences welcome.

IIRC when mine did it my local garage just spot welded it for me, cost about £25.

Yep removed mine too.

The short bolts had corroded solid into the nut retainers, and the heads had sheared off. So no hope of replacing without a faff.

you can get metal cable style clips to clip it on, iirc its there to stop heat setting light to long grass/other flamable objects that you may drive your car over and park on.

had mine spot-welded as well, no issues after that.

Mine has a massive jubilee clip around the cat, holding it on. I spot welded it, but it came off after a few weeks.
