Cylinder 2 Misfire in the Wet

Featured Replies

Hi all, been getting a intermittent EML since buying my fabia, just check the codes with my new reader and it's throwing up a Cylinder 2 misfire (P0302) I've swapped the coil pack to see if the code follows but any obvious reason why I might be getting this particularly in the wet?! Noticed the seal on the coil pack was nice and positive so don't think the water seal there is an issue. What other things would people suggest checking for a misfire?!

Sadly its still giving a cylinder 2 misfire after swapping the coil pack. What other things could it be?

could be a seal on the injector

could be a seal on the injector

How would I check that?

I've just noticed this :

I assume thats part of the injector, I noticed some electrical tape which seemed to be oddly placed and for these two bare underneath. Seems suspect to me.

Only thing Im not sure about is if these are the cause of the fault code (which hasn't reappeared since taping them back up better) why is the tick over (idle) so rough? Could it all be linked?!

id say that was your problem on the misfire. as for the tick over im sorry, but i dont know.

Cool thanks for your help! I've taped them up good and propper, will see how it goes, may replace the loom when it's not mot season! Might give an ecu reset another go, see if when it re learns the values it learns them better!

Insulating tape isn't really enough, often the adhesive isn't very strong and it will come off. Heatshrink is better but requires cutting the wire. Self amalgamating tape would be a good next best choice.

Thanks anewman for the tape suggestion, I picked some up this morning and its a strong as anything. Got the wires covered up nicely. Although it's still juddering a lot whilst idling. Can't work out what it is. No fault codes just judders.
