Hybrid question

Featured Replies

Hi guys I was on the turbo dynamics website and they hav a stage 1 hybrid md345 and a stage 2 md446. Would I be right in thinking the stage 1 is a hybrid pd130 and stage 2 a hybrid pd150. It looks like both are capable of 220 to 240bhp do was wondering what's the difference?

I have read reviews an it seems the md446 Is the one to go for. Would be interested to see if any one has used the stage 1 hybrid.

I have the md446 on m Fabia 1.9TD vRS and it is a cracking turbo. Very fast spooling very low down through all gears. Power figures are 236 bhp & 396 lbs ft.

another option it you are interested

I have the MD 376 which is the stage 2 pd150 hybrid - can't fault it - no lag and pulls smoothly throughout the rev range - rated 240 -260bhp

power figures 242bhp 332lb/ft

They have 4 options (well 6 if you look at the pd160 turbo)

You have

stage 1/2 for a gt1749va (pd130)

Stage 1/2 for gt1749vb (pd150 which has a bigger exhaust turbine)

Stage 1/2 for gt1749vb as fitted to the pd160.

As I understand, stage one is just stronger, stage 2's are fitted with bigger compressors.

I have the MD 376 which is the stage 2 pd150 hybrid - can't fault it - no lag and pulls smoothly throughout the rev range - rated 240 -260bhp

Agree, the best turbo to go for. I had a MD374 previously (stage 1) and there is no extra lag, just extra performance.

As said the difference in stage 1 or 2 on pd130 hybrids is 1 is gt17 conp wheel 2 is gt20!
