Is there a difference in spec between vrs's with red calipers & 1s with green?

Just wondered why they have different colours & if it actually signifies a certain difference?

The green calipers came on the early ones but it changed to red in 2007 model year. Doesn't signify anything.

It was something to do with parts availability and cost in the VAG group..Just use one colour (red) means its cheaper to spray lots of calipers

I think it's a shame really, I have red on mine as it is on the change over year, the green looks better imho. If I had realised when I got my S3 fronts I would be refurbing the rear calipers to match them, I would have changed them to green. :'(

I was dissapointed to get red too. The green was a bit different.
