Hard to say, but looks like he didn't correct and then over-corrected on the steering.

As soon as you wind on serious steering they become rear drive only.

Many GT-R drivers are not aware of that.

Thats nuts, must have just hit third and lost traction+ slight angle on steering, sounds like the crowd loved it anyway

Hardly any steering at all going on there.

The track looks slightly damp so either he's sort of aquaplaning there and then picks up traction or like Boss said, he's suddenly realised he's going into opposite lane and majorly panics.

very lucky, I bet he papped himself

Damn!

Bet that interior needs a clean now!

Wow,new pants for the driver! that could of been a expensive day! At least the crowd loved it! lol.

Ooooh that was a close one! Turds a plenty in that cockpit for sure.

Technically that's wrong they are RWD most of the time the ATESSA system only sends power to the front when it senses lack of traction at the rear. The v-spec is more advanced again sensing which front wheel will pull it around but and the V- spec II senses all wheels. For a real high power GTR most piggyback the ATTESSA ECU telling it where to send the most torque(front or rear) The rule of thumb is in drag racing you will always get a better start in RWD. 4wd it's always 50/50 on the start as you can either do it brilliantly or fail miserably because they tend to bog down. and fwd is just pure luck and some real skill if You pull it off on the real high hp cars. That's where the GTR is the best all rounder on track or drag as its got immense grip and best in both worlds. The only let down with the GTR be it R32, R33, R34 or R35 is weight. Because they are heavy

Yes. I know.

I was trying to keep it simple because this thread is about a lucky guy not crashing, not about GT-R technical specs. :D

When it starts to go wrong you have 4 wheel drive due to slip at the rear. Wind on to much lock with an R35 and it's back to RWD only. Then it becomes tail happy.

Which is why when cornering we are always taught slow in-fast out. Well that's what I was taught in mine anyway.

Ok that's sommin new I learnt about the R35. You own one then??

Yes, but I try not to dicuss it too much outside my car thread (which includes my Fabia mkI VRS SE) as it's a Skoda forum.

The driver training company CAT DT that opperate out of Millbrook found this when doing oversteer handling with the GTROC, during Skidpan exercises.

Colin, their head guy, is ex-Nissan amongst other stuff and really knows what he is talking about. He slowed down my corner entry speeds and it make me quicker.

bad driver tbh, u can see the rear never had traction, always slightly off and then bye bye, noob driver

Just think, if he did hit the wall, that car would have looked so much better :giggle:

Bit of an amature I reckon. There where GTR guys running quicker times than that at Brighton Sprint in the wet last year.

Chris

Holy carp! Nice save.
