Door replacement, help needed pls!

Featured Replies

As i said in your other post, yes, just swop your old door internals & glass & door card over into the new door. If your not confident swopping all this over a garage should do the door swop & all the glass & door internals in a couple of hours.

You might get the airbag light coming on after this even if you don't have the optional safety curtains. you'll need to reset with VAGCOM.

joking! can't be doing with warning lights, VAGCOM? where would i get this reset? dealer only?

Taking the door off trips an alarm on the loom whether you have the side airbags or not. Happened to mine when the door was off to get sprayed. Most garages have a code reader that can clear the faults or you can get them from ebay. Not a big deal just thought I'd warn you that you might get the light.

If you search the forum for VAGCOM you'll find some details.

So any garage with diagnostics can scan & remove the fault code should it happen?

It's a simple job but will need multispline bits to release the hinges from the door.it won't spring any codes up as no sensors are in the back doors. Alarm would only trip something up if the tech had not connected plugs fully. Just take your time and pics of where things go just in case u forget. Drop me a pm if u get stuck n hope ur happy with the grill
