I am trying to work out where the noise is coming from on the rear when going over uneven roads or speed bumps. If it was a mark 1. I would say its the rear beam bushes but the car has independent suspension. Every search I do returns MK1. The bushes are available from TPS for about £5 each.

Question is are they hard to fit like the mark1?

Yep, I'd agree having had a similar issue at the front fixed by replacing the links.

It's a rod that connects the Anti Roll Bar to the Suspension.

They are about £25 each at the front if you get well made ones and should be 30 minutes labour per side maximum from my experience at the front.
