Vibration on acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi could anyone help. After recent clutch change I get a slight vibration when accelerating only.I also changed left drive shaft at the same time.Any Idea where should I look first. I changed the dual mass flywheel as the gearbox was qiute loud but that did not cure the problem.Gearbox is still noisy but when I press the clutch it dissapears.Could it be then a worn out gearbox?

did you change the release bearing when you did the flywheel? really when changing dual mass you should do clutch, pressure plate and release bearing aswell. this can cause noise when sittn at idle with the clutch depressed and it will go away when you press it.

is the noise from the gearbox heard all the way through the revs?

vibration, well start easy, check that all the wheel studs are tight as this can cause vibration. if thats not it then it could be the spider bearings on the drive shaft? get under the car and grab a hold of each shaft and shake it, if you try twist the shaft you will get a bit of play, this is ok as its just the back lash from the diff and its supposed to be that way but if you shake the drive shaft and get excess movement then the shafts bearings could be on the way out.

hope this helps
