Metallic clunking under braking

Featured Replies

Noticed tonight on my vRS a metallic clunking / clicking sound when braking. It is actually quite loud and repetative that it sounds like a jackhammer coming from the front right wheel.

Any ideas what it could be.

If its not the abs cutting in then I would think its the driveshaft moving in the hub. This often happens if the hub nut is not replaced when removed or not torqued correctly.

It's also the reason the early Fabias went from the 19mm Allen key style bolt to the 36mm 12 sided nut.

Thanks for the reply. Would this nut have been undone or removed when having a new track rod end fitted.

If it is the ABS cutting in is there anyway I can check to confirm its this?
