Columbus GPS signal loss

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just completed first long journey after retrofitting Columbus to my pre FL VRS. Radio came with puck type gps aerial that I fitted under dash as advised. I lost satelites and obviously position after about 50 miles on motorway, showing me as off road. Tried aerial out on top of dash on return journey, initialy seemed better:) but then lost signal again. Wondering if aerial faulty (unit and aerial second hand) or because this uniy has Video in motion, is it interfering with loacation. Any help appreciated.

I had a columbus fitted this week and had some issues initially picking up satellites. It turned out that there was a bit of fluff or debris floating around inside the connector on the GPS cable. It might be worth checking.
