That rear wiper

Featured Replies

I mentioned few weeks ago that the rear washer was not working but wiper was,so dealer said the washer was leaking into the wiper motor and replacement is £180. Now suddenly the washer is working but not the wiper and its going in this Monday for replacement, do you thing the water has now ruined the motor?. Rang dealer again and spoke about the price being so high and he came back with £161, thats more like it.

Checked the pipe behind boot lining on mine and it had popped nearly out of joint, made that good.

Washer pressure was better but not great.

Then spotted water dripping from boot lid latch. Removed boot hatch liner and tested water - peeing out of pump! The shaft had worn badly.

New rear assembly without wiper arm = 80.00 on ebay.

DIY its not too hard a job. (Having said that the trim is a real bitch to get off).

Apparently its worse to get back on....

Eventually found a cap which filled the hole (watertight) where spindle passed through glass.

I'll replace when I have time / cash. The rear widow stays fairly clean anyway.

what a stoopid design this is !
