Painting plastic hub caps

Featured Replies

The winter tyres and steel rims are now off the car until the winter. The steels looked naff so I got some cheap hub caps which were an improvement but still looked out of place. Good for being a stealth vRS but that's about all.

My plan is to get some spray paint and play around with different designs. Having never done this before though is there any advice on how to proceed?

I presume I will need a primer for plastic, but does it the matter what type of paint to use and how do I finish it off, lacquer?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, a while ago I repainted the plastic centre hubs on my Felly pick-up. All I did was pre-clean them, prime coat and multiple sprayed top coat with the colour I'd chosen from Halfords. Managed to get a great finish and they're as good now as when done. I'm sure more technical advice may be offered, but that did the job for me.
