Title says it all really, I have a complete leg with new-ish shock originally intended for a 1.4MPi and the top mount bearing went last night on my finace's 1.9 tdi.

Is the spring likely to be the same on the two? If so I'll just fit the complete leg.

They should be different, you've got a fair bit of extra weight at the front even though the mpi isn't the lightest of blocks being an original Skoda lump.

Yea, that old lump was probably carved from rock with chisels and hammers.

I didn't think they'd be the same, I guess I'll just have to do MORE work stripping down the strut thats failed.
