Am I right?

Featured Replies

Probably been covered hundreds of times, so apologies.

Am I right in thinking the difference between the Amundsen and bolero is that the Amundsen has sat nav?

I am looking at upgrading my 2006 octavia stereo but am unsure what stereo to get. Not too bothered about bluetooth but sat nav would be a bonus but not essential. I like the look of the 'big' screen. How much am I looking at paying for a better stereo?

Should I be concerned about the battery draining issue? Could someone explain this to me?

Thanks guys and gals!

I may be wrong but I think if you want the sat nav version for an Octy and you want OEM then you need to look at the Columbus - that's the one with Sat Nav. I have just recently replaced my Bolero with a Columbus.

Both are in my opinion great units, the main difference between the two is that the Colubus has sat nav and a built in HD to store music on etc and will also play DVDs

There are two sat nav units, the Amundsen, basiclly similar to Bolero, just has added sat nav, different buttons and display on the screen, then the Columbus has sat nav, hard drive for stored music, DVD player etc so the Amundsen I suppose is a good half way house between the two.
