Fitted my kw v1's last night but front is still high?

I fitted the standard spring collar (metal) from the old shocks ontop of the kw plastic spring top plate

Have i booboo'd as other threads suggest this isnt required and would gain me another 5-10mm?

However every other coilovers ive ever fitted utilises the stock spring top plate?

No not the top mount the metal plate thats on the standard setup on the front that is the first part ontop of the spring? Which then goes the bearing on top then the rubber mount?

I put the metal plate on my coilovers but do i need it as the kw set up has a plastic plate that goes on the spring top?

you should only need a top mount and bearing when fitting these

Right ive fitted new top mounts and bearings so on the octy nothing is required from the stock setup

Every other kit ive used before, mk5 golf gt, lupo gti, you need to pinch the top plates from the springs of the stock suspension to fit onto the coilovers!

Looks like im going to be busy this afternoon again :(

Ah right I get you, yeah only the top mount and bearing is needed from the old setup, nothing else off the standard strut,

On my v1s there was 2 rubber stopper things, they stop it from going down , it say on destructions which to take out for what height

Got rid of both to save the trouble

Oh poop i have both those rubber stops in? Remove both or 1??

Iirc both are now gone from mine

the rubbers are bump stops, they stop the shocks and springs going to their extreme limit of travel to stop them getting damaged and to stop the 'crashing' going through the car, like when you hit a bump in the road at speed. You should keep at least 1 in there.

The kws come complete, you shouldnt need parts from you old shock and spring setup, it sit higher with them in.

There os a giide with them, i think its when you hit 40mm drop the 2nd comes out
