How much do you think this is worth?

Featured Replies

Friend of mine is selling this, and I can't decide whether to sell my black 53 plate revo'd vRS with 60K on the clock and buy this.......

2001 115k In red with tinted window

MK1 vRS

Full service history every mot receipt going even original bill of sale

He's just spent 2000 pound on it over last 6 weeks

Brand new hybrid turbo with bigger internals 360 deg bearings cut back blades and turbosmart actuator,

Ported manifold with 3 inch downpipe and decat to full stainless exhaust.

Uprated injectors

Uprated fuel pump

4bar fuel pressure reg

Front mount intercooler with alloy boost pipes

Just been on a rolling road @ rs tuning and did 258bhp @1.2 bar when can easily run 1.8

WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK? HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH? DO I SELL MINE?

HONEST OPINIONS ARE VERY WELCOME!

I would keep yours and make a offer for all the goodies!

depends who did the hybrid

how the car has been treated

what does he want for it ???

carsnot worth the 2k hes just spent though

seems a bit odd that he would sell it 6 weeks after chucking 2000 at it unless it has a serious problem, and no mention of uprated rods or clutch which both would want doing at that power

All excellent points, and pleased I've got an independent opinion. Truth be know, it's a mate from school who I speak to occasionally so I don't really know that much about the car.

I've seen the light, and I'll keep my trusty beast until the summer.

In terms of price, he's after £3000 ono. I just thought it might be a cheap car for a cheeky bid of £2K.

Oh, and reason for selling - He has kids, and the wife has said that it scares her. He does seem to change his cars a lot (generally performance cars) so it's probably a genuine reason for sale

NO the rods will be fine and the clutch will cope ;-) above the 300 then you need to think about rods but seen somepeople running 330+ on stock bottom end without issue ( lottery though)

2k it will be worth a punt depending on

what hybrid it is ( where he brought it from~)

who mapped it

service history

etc etc

if all the above are cool then 2k is worth a punt @ 3k he is dreaming but hybrid always gets people attention !!!

I'll find out what Hybrid it is, and who mapped it. It has Full Service History, and receipts from new.

It seems like its been well looked after to be honest. I'll go have a look and a drive tomorrow.

330 on standard rods, even with a low torque map is seriously asking for trouble imo

yeah i would change rods upwards of 300bhp but at 258 as this has there not needed

Just looked at the other details he sent me, and it looks like AET did the turbo and all other bits, http://www.aet-turbo...CFYt-fAodLxHRUw and RS Tuning have done the map http://www.rstuning.co.uk/

worth a punt and will make a nice road car but has it has suspension and brake upgrades done ??

2k to 2.5k if mint no more imo
