Scout clutch problem

Got a 60 reg 2.0 tdi cr Scout with 12500 miles. A noise has started when the clutch peddle is out ie clutch not down. Pushing clutch down stops noise. Noise is rotational ticking, no change in peddle feel. Any ideas? Be good to have an idea before the dealer tries to fob me off....
