  1. Hi All, looks like I will be buying 3 tyres soon, tyres fitted at the moment are Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and there awfull with a hard ride and feeling every bump in the road, I'm after good mileage with a good ride as were in our 60s and not boy racers so any recommendations?
  2. Thanks Pete, do you know the driveshaft nut torque setting ?
  3. Fabia mk2 2008 engine code BNV 1.4 TDI Hi All, we need to find a part number and a couple of the websites we go on don't list the full number, can anybody help ? Cheers Stuart

    VW forums ?

Hi all, I've bought a 2020 VW Tiguan 2ltr TDi 4x4 so can anybody reccomend a good forum, I believe its based on the same platform as the Karoq so I might put a few posts on there, still have the Rapid though.
  7. Hi all, well it's looking like I'm going to have to change the clutch + slave cylinder as the pedal is sticking halfway again, I have changed the master cylinder (twice) checked for leaks on the brakes as well as the clutch and there's a small dribble of clear fluid at the bottom of the gearbox, as I'm not certain of the make of clutch fitted in going to have to remove it first then pick one up.
  8. Hi Mr James, we tried a reset with my brothers car scanner but it didn't last long so we had to buy another throttle body and thats now working OK.
  9. Hi All, My front nearside outer CV boot has split so I'm changing it, looking on elsawin there are 5 different driveshafts that can be fitted and looking at eurocarparts and GSF there are 4 different boots, so I'm having to remove the old one (in between rain showers) and take it with me and also measure the sizes each end of the shaft etc. Is there a way of finding out without removing the original ? Cheers Stuart
  10. Possible loose connection, check main fuse box under bonnet and side connections.
  11. It you have VCDS you can put the car into sleep mode without disconnecting the battery just like the factory do when the car is put in long term storage !
  12. My Scout does this and I am suspecting a bad seal on the roof rails, I've removed the internal trim around the lock catch and I keep emptying a couple of holes for years that fill with rain water !
  13. Hi varoom , thanks for that, I think mine's a 1Z , I'm trying to narrow it down just in case I have to change the clutch slave cylinder/complete clutch, going off your drawing of the slave cylinder is there a drain going to the edge of the gearbox to stop brake fluid contaminating the clutch plate if it was leaking ? Mine's a Scout 4x4 so has an output off the main gearbox for the haldex gearbox so I presume it would be trickier to remove.
