RCD 510 DAB compatibility with New Skoda Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm looking to buy a new Skoda Fabia and replace the standard radio (Swift?) with the RCD 510 DAB and hopefully/maybe a blue tooth kit.

My question is what are my chances of compatibility with

a) The multi-function steering wheel (one with phone controls preferably)

b ) maxi-dot screen (does this show info from the radio?)

c) MDI accessory/cable

I realise I will need a new aerial as well, but don't know whether to spend the money on a) and b ) if they are not going to be compatible.

c) I think is not so much problem.

I will obviously ask at Skoda but would welcome the experience of you enthusiasts as the dealerships can be a bit clueless unless you are lucky enough to get the right person.

Thanks in advance

Roger

Yes it shoudl work I think, obviosuly a DAB aerial woudl be needed, things like parking sensors etc should still show on it, and my Bolero (RCD510) does show up in teh maxidot if I want it too, but I suspect that woudl be a coding issue.

so a bolero is just a (non DAB) RCD 510?

Pretty much, I had the RCD510 in my Touran a couple of years ago before the Bolero in my Octavia and it feel identical :-)
