CV Joint Leak ?

Featured Replies

I have just put my spacers on the octy and when i took the front drivers side wheel off my hand was covered in oil.

The inside of the alloy is covered in oil as is the inside of the caliper and bottom of my strut.

Not knowing much about cars im thinking this is a cv boot/joint leak ?

Can any throw some light on the situation please, i know its hard to diagnose by just reading this but thought maybe someone else might have experienced this problem.

On the other hand the spacers look good but it will look 100x better with camber shims fitted as when i have just taken it out for a little spin they are rubbing when you go over bumps. And it is going into the garage tomorrow for coilovers fitted.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Check for splits and that the fittings are tight, does sound like you have a split though

Looks like the bottom of the strut is sitting on top of the cv boot to be honest.

Any idea how much it normally costs to fix ?

You may need some new brake pads if the grease from the cv joint has contaminated them.

Don't think it has got as far as the pad's, just all over the alloy and the caliper.

Actually you would have probably noticed the effect on braking if it had!
