Have you got the Columbus navigation unit? As three of the fault codes look like the ones you get when you retro fit that unit.

Have you changed the CAN Gateway (19)? It looks like it might have been pre-programmed to a different set up.

Run a scan, then clear all fault codes (DTC's) and allow it to rescan. See what reappears.

Am I right in thinking that 1T0-035-680 is an early Columbus?

If so,:

Go to 19 - CAN Gateway and see that the required items (TPMS, Radio, Navigation, are all 'ticked')

You should find that 47: Sound system disappears as you probably don't have one and 46: Navigation appears.

56 - Radio "Open Circuit Fault' caused by only having one aerial input when two are required. Won't hurt and won't go away (even with a plitter in most instances).

16 - Steering Wheel - 00888 = a faulty switch for the wiper interval speed. Most likely to be dirty. There are tutorials on how to fix cruise control stalks with the same problem and this will probably be very similar.

Without knowing what you have done to the car prior to this scan, it is hard to give you any more information about what may have caused all these faults to 'appear'.

If you have installed a new CAN and / or a Columbus, then that probably accounts for many of these. So, clear the faults and see what comes back by next week.

    I had a similar list of faults when scanned, most of them disappeared after clearing all DTC's. Try clearing all and see which ones come back.

    i did retro fit the columbus around 3 months ago. i havent put a new can gateway in and im sure its an L which means i wont get battery drain. ive ran another scan and cleared the faults and they came back on and ive checked the tire pressure and im unable to get on to number 65- tire pressure so im thinking there must be something wrong there but dont know what?? also what is the ambience light as thats showing as a fault also??

    ill have another go at clearing them and see what happens but im pretty sure the tpms and the ambience lighting stayed on.

    Try clearing each controller separately this time.

    'L' gateways shouldn't suffer from battery drain.

    Have you any internal LEDs? Or have you had a flat battery at any point?

    i have got leds in the interior lights is that why its throwing up the ambience lighting fault?

    Not 100% sure, but I know LEDs can cause all sorts of issues, even the supposed CAN BUS ones.

    Tire pressure is linked to ABS system, so keep an eye on that, you don't want an abs fault cropping up next.

    Have you not cross referenced the codes against the RossTek wiki, there's loads of helpful info on there site? Might narrow downt the steering fault too.

    The steering one is the 4 way toggle switch on top of the wiper stalk.

    I looked it up on the Ross Tech Wiki for someone the other day.

    As I said earlier, probably needs cleaning.

    All the non-obvious fault codes seem to point to either faulty wiring somewhere or to incorrectly coded modules.

    Check fuses, replace LED's with bulbs, then clear DTC's and rescan.

    I remember having a 'problem' with fault codes not disappearing: it was down to the way I was saving and rescanning. Clear DTC's module by module then rescan.

    It is rare, but I have read about coding becoming corrupted by unknown sources. Perhaps yours has and the modules need to be recoded individually. Just a thought...

    Start with 19 - CAN and then go through them all systematically. Make sure you record the settings as they are now and every change you make so that you can always reverse it.

    its weird though as everything works fine and never had any problems until ive plugged it in and found the codes??? the tpms works on the dash, the wipers have never stuck and my interior lights work fine??? the only thing ive had is a water leak in the passenger door but that was only once and has never leaked again could it have done something somewhere??

    Quite often you won't notice anything wrong with the car as the faults are mostly intermittent.

    Perhaps changing the Head Unit has had a knock on effect on some of the other controllers...

    Try what has been suggested and see how you get on.

    Ignoring the "aerial" faults (because you have a columbus), do you have the optional 12 speaker sound system?

    Also, how good is your battery? Has it gone flat recently?

    I think the "backup horn" fault was discussed in a thread on here & there was some discussion about it being an alarm issue

    battery is good never had any issues i dont think i have 12 speakers just the 8 including tweeters. dont know what sound system is could it be related to the columbus retrofit and i just have to live with that?? the ambience lighting is the leds for interior lights i think so will live with that and i cant do anything about the antenna i know that so it just leaves the interior monitoring system which i have no idea what that is and the tire pressure monitor which i cant even get on??

    Ok, so you shouldn't be getting the report for the sound system, as you don't have it, and the TPMS is done via the ABS system. The reason i asked about the battery was that on fault was shown as 12v, and could be a short, or it could be that the battery voltage is dropping and thus you are getting the fault logged. Had this on my old Octy when the battery gave up.

    How old is your car? Has the CAN gateway been replaced at all?

    just a question if a battery was faulty would it make the car to splutter sometimes when started as i get that reguarly? could the car the columbus came out of had sound system and that i just have to live with that? im not sure about the can gateway not been changed since i had it and its a 57 plate

    As it's usually easy to get done, i'd have the battery drop/load tested, but I'd not like to bet that it fixes the problem.

    You really need one of the forum VCDS wizards, perhaps who live near you to take a look, but I think you can de select the sound system in the CAN gateway. The problem is however that some of the faults could be coding errors as much as faults, so you really do have to be careful with what you alter to try and correct things. How long have you had it? how many previous owners etc? It could be that a previous owner had a problem and swapped in another CAN Gateway? But you really do need a proper expert to check it over.

    How far are you away from Awesome GTI? Might be worth a few quid to resolve it?

    i use a place called psi tuning near me they are very good so ive got them to have a look when it goes to have the kw coilovers done

    Quick update I've taken it tothe garage yesterday and the tire pressure fault was that it was ticked in can gateway and I don't actually have that at all mine works through the abs apparently! And he unchecked digital sound and all is god now! The only fault that won't go away is the interior monitors for the alarm and he doesn't know what these are so can anyone tell me how to fix this please?
