Latest MFSW on Octavia?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether the latest VW/Seat Multifunction Steering Wheel will fit on a pre-FL Octavia?

P/N: 3C8 419 091 BE or 5P0 419 891 AS or similar.

I'm about the upgrade my steering controller to 1K0 953 549 BP and I was wondering whether this was new enough to support all those buttons?

Also what airbags would fit (or can the VW logo be taken off the airbag and replaced with a Skoda one)?

Has anyone tried this yet?

There seem to be a few of these used wheels around at about £60-80 which seems pretty reasonable to me, but not reasonable enough to take a gamble without the advice of someone more knowledgeable than me.

Thanks.

the answer is NO

you would need a CH controller if you wanted that type

The airbag is different and you would need one that matches

Didn't think it would but thought I'd check before wasting money again.

Just discovered that the buttons are also backlit - in VW red.

As I expect changing the colour to suit Skoda (i.e. green) would be rather involved, I think I might give up on this one.

Unless you know otherwise...

I've seen that it has been done by someone on this forum (with a flat bottomed VW one) and it does look good - but due to needing another new controller and a new (VW branded) airbag. I've decided not to.

Instead, I'm hoping to go for a FL Octavia MFSW from Skodateile and a new FL airbag.

As mine is a pre-FL (MY07) Octavia, will the BP steering module be OK with this?

Will I need a custom or standard airbag loom as I am fitting a FL MFSW to a pre-FL car?

I've read 30+ threads on this forum about it and still do not feel 100% confident that these will work properly if I do order them.

Has anyone done this?

A three spoke Skoda FL MFSW on to a pre-FL Octavia?

If so, how? And what parts?
