Couple of VCDS Questions

Loving the new motor...

Did the dimming drl on indication thing this evening and noticed there was an option to dip the mirror on reversing which I ticked. But nothing happened?! Assumed it was the same as my Mkv (mirror control on L and when in reverse it dips) am I missing something?

Also can't find where to turn off the ghetto peep and peep peep on lock unlock. Any pointers?

TIA

Dave

Why would you want to dim your drl when indicating? The indicators are nowhere near the drls. I sort of get it on Audis where they are but it just looks daft to me and amounts to mitigation for bad design.

Simple, because I think it looks cool! :)

Dipping mirrors are only available with electric seats I have been told.

If you ask me it's look a whole lot cooler if turned the damn things off completely.

Anyway - my point for replying is that surely auto dropping mirrors (whilst hand for reverse parking close to the kerb) would be a reall pain in the arse when reversing down a narrow street, close to a wall, etc?

They only dipped (in the golf) if the mirror control was set to L. In the centre or R position it didn't dip.

I found it a very handy parallel parking aid.

Thanks, must be one of those random control module things...

Not so bad then - although to an extent if you've got to mess with the buttons anyway then it takes a lot of the shine off it as a feature.

It's a 'meh' from me on this one!

It really doesn't.
