As the Scout rides higher what are the main difference's between the 2, could the scout suspension be retrofitted to the classic to make it ride higher, if not is there another way of raising the ride height as I keep scraping the speed bumps when loaded with passengers

No just a classic estate, just need to raise it about 3 inches at the front

Suspension will swap over, will also give you clearance.

Did a similar thing on a friends Octavia recently. His tow hitch was to low so we had a look about. Found some listings for Monroe suspension I think and found Touran springs were the same part number as the HD Octavia ones and cheaper,mlifted his back end up by about two inches, perfect.
