Pads For DA- Please Recommend Me Some.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I need some replacement pads for the DAS 6 Pro and would like some help in selecting which ones please. I bought the kit from CYC with the Lake County pads; the cutting one is still ok but the polishing and finishing ones certainly need replacing.

I'll mainly be working on VAG cars with the Menzerna polishes I have and would like to get pads that will cover all bases- ie cutting, polishing, finishing (any others?).

Please recommend any you know of and let me know where to get them. Ideally I'd like to buy a multi-pack that'll cover all areas if such a thing exists. I'm currently scouring sites for different pads by different brands, but I'd prefer some first hand advice from those in the know. They don't have to cost the earth either.

Thanks in advance for your help.

i have been using the CYC own label pads for about two years, and to be honest i have found them to be the best pads i have ever used, they really last very very well and certainly have the best feel when being used.

Below are the categories of pads listed on their site:

Sonus SFX Foam Pads

Sonus 4" Spot Pads

Chemical Guys - Hexlogic Pads

Lake Country - CCS Pads

Lake Country - 4" CCS Spot Pads

Lake Country - Constant Pressure Pads

Lake Country - Hydrotech Pads

Lake Country - Kompressor Pads

Meguiars Buffing Pads

Meguiars Solo System

Menzerna Polishing Pads

Am I missing something? I can't see the CYC pads.

From my recent searches, it appears £9 per pad is the going rate. Would people say one cutting, one polishing and one finishing pad would suffice?

Monza kit on eBay for £50, seems decent value:

What's in this kit:

1x dual action backing plate fits most dual action polishers, g220, das6 etc

2x 6" Cutting Pads 'white'

2x 6" Medium Polishing Pads 'orange'

2x 6" Light Polishing Pads 'yellow'

2x 6" Finishing Pads 'black'

Does anyone know anything of this brand?

here you go mate http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/cleanyoucar-ep800-compact-rotary-polisher/cat_100.html the orange pad is great for compounding and even fine polishing, and the black finishing pad is possibly a little bit too flimsy and soft, so i would get two orange and one white pad.Unless you have some major swirls to get rid of then get a Blue one aswell.

and if you buy them and dont like them i will buy them off you at full price, as i swear they are great pads.

Brilliant, thanks for that. I've done exactly that, ordered two orange and one white. My Lake Country cutting pad is still in good condition so that should cover all avenues.

Thought I'd treat myself to a couple of grit guards too, as they must help the return of swirls that I seem to get on mine.

Thanks for your help.

not a problem mate, which compund you using for swirl removal?? as i have found the megs m105 to be just brilliant
