Installing Alpine Setup... Adaptor Questions

Featured Replies

I'm replacing the standard crap Symphony with a Alpine unit..

I know I can get replacement ISO adaptor from Halfords PC2-69-4

or the one from bluespot....

This allows a pwer source to the aerial amp.... Does the Octavia

have this amp???

Also I remember putting a Sony HU in my Passat ( V plate ) and I had to swap the batt backup and the switched Ignition over,Will I have to do the same again??

The Octavia does require the power to the aerial amp (This goes down the centre core of the co-axial). The power leads "Should" not need swapping as the connections are ISO on the BlueSpot adapter.

Using the BlueSpot adapter solves bith the "K Wire" issues and the Aerial amp lead.

the halfords adapter also solves any issues.. which alpine unit are you using? make sure you post us some pics!

;)

Used the Autoleads adapter as I ordered my equipment from MCS Direct and thought, for a tenner, it was better than having to chance Halfords or mess around with Bluespot.

Just plugged it in and it worked fine - even the radio, as within minutes Paul had managed to tune it to a radio station with S Club playing. Which, I'm sure, is pure coincidence... ;)

Which Alpine unit have you gone for anyway? :D

no rob that was your mp3 collection.. we hadnt connected the aerial at that point...

We didn't even have the adaptor at that point though, so it couldn't have been off the changer! :p

But I don't own any! And it had radio station annoucements on it...what was it "campest station in

Wigan" or something...? :p

Rob.
