ASR Light flashes on

Featured Replies

Recently I've noticed a couple of times that the ASR light has briefly flashed on.

Big sigh. What now?

Any ideas?

Giving it too much right foot?

If it flashes when pulling away, it means the traction control is kicking in. A permanent light would indicate either a fault of it has been turned off.

^^ +1 (To both the above)

Maybe not intentionally though. When it's not rained for a while, oily-crap builds up on the road surface. When it rains it can make the surface a lil' more slippery than normal and you can break traction a bit easier, especially when pulling away (water and oil not mixing etc etc). After a day or three of rain, the surface is clean again. On a Drive And Survive day one of the trivia was: under heavy braking on a dry road you are more likely to skid in summer than winter as there's been less rain to keep the road clean.

Ahhh I see.

technology in action. There are a lot of leaves on the road.

I thought it was another attack on my wallet!

Phew thanks

No, it shows that the open-wallet surgery you had when buying the car is all working properly ;) ;)

(Bit like your anti-virus showing you that it's dealt with in infection)
