2002 Octavia 1U 1.8T 4x4 JabbaSport Remap with Hinckley Hail Panel Damage -

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have now started a new teaching job (at last a job!) but I need to commute over 60 miles a day and although the Octy averages 36-37mpg I am struggling to afford the petrol.

I have owned the car for almost a year and it had a full service including haldex when I bought it - receipt available. Shortly afterwards, I drove to JabbaSport to have a stage 1 remap, forge dv008 recirculating valve (to airbox) and green panel filter - receipt available.

The car drives very well and does not rattle or creek - I think the 1U Octavia build quality is exceptional.

Those that know me will vouch that I drive with mechanic sympathy and have never pushed the car to anywhere near it's limits.

I have just taxed the car till 30th April 2013 and it's MOT'd till August 10th 2013.

As mentioned it has panel damage to the roof and bonnet as caused by the Hinckley hail storm. The aesthetics would benefit from a replacement bonnet but I haven't had time to search thoroughly.

This is the information about the car when I bought it:

5 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Petrol, 82,851 miles, Green, MOT-08-2012.

GENUINE 82851 MILES " ALMOST FULL SERVICE HISTORY " TIMING BELT BEEN CHANGED 70,000 MILES ON 19/10/2010 " NEW ARRIVAL" POWER STEERING, CENTRAL LOCKING, ELECTRIC WINDOWS, AIR CONDITION, ALLOY WHEELS £1895.

The mileage is now 88417 as at 27/10/2012.

When I bought the Octy I didn't buy the first one I viewed and the condition reflects this.

I am asking £1000 - NO OFFERS PLEASE as the car owes me just over £2600 from last year!

I would consider exchanging for a diesel car so again PM me information about what you have please.

Best wishes

John

Hi, I am part exchanging the car for a 2005 honda accord 2.2 cdti so won't own a skoda- the wife still has a fabia so will keep participating here.

Honda has a cam chain so no more worries of failing cambelt!

I am going to take the honda to tunit - i have followed bromleys/ tunit for many years and they always seem to provide a reputable service.

Unlike the vag tuning scene the honda diesel tuning scene is in it's infancy and quite small and I find so many wild claims for honda remaps - that's why i decided to go for a digital tuning box.

Best wishes

John

If it falls through or the dealer is just putting it into the trade please PM me. I have a friend whos looking for a cheap tow vehicle, this would be ideal

Re the Honda mapping, I know a copuple of people who have remapped civic diesels & the clutch couldnt take it so do a bit of research on Accords before doing it just in case their clutch is near the torque limit
