Featured Replies

Went about changing my strut top mounts today.

As you can see it's knackered

Felt like too moch effort to completely remove the shock so I didn't

Its tight but with the spring compressed the mount fits out

Then jack the hub back up to change the bearing.

Again the special work done previously shows its head, the old mount was in upside down. You can see the top (bottom) of the old one is deformed from being fitted arseways

Back together and looking as it should

Aye, thank god, i forgot to put the original spring hats on with the coilovers,

i never needed to do that on mine, still cant figure that one out buddy, my joms hat fitted as they were

when i got that set from that lad near you his where set up with the jom spring hat and the oem one mines still has play in it

is it knocking or something? how does it manifest? im worried i should have done this

mines is veering to the left tracking is 100%, spring ajustment is the exact same only loose thing is the top mounts tightened up and still loose

Mines veers left too, tracking blob on. It's a trait a lot of folk have with skodas. Still can't picture how top mount is loose, surely pressure of the spring keeps it tight anyway.

it does to a certain point, off to bed mate
