Looks pretty impractical to me. A display of that size needs to be located in the driver's line of sight, not tucked down on the centre dash. I use a Garmin eTrex Vista GPS - which has an even smaller display - but have it mounted inside the windscreen just off centre of my line of sight where it is just about manageable to read. Doesn't have sound of course, which I assume the one in question does.

Just had a look at the kit - Blaupunkt Travel Pilot is a turn by turn system, useful but limited.

The unit is CD ROM based, so map CD will only cover the UK - so if you want to use it in Europe you will have to buy further CD Roms, approx.

yes denis it does have sound... the travel pilot is basically a small screen version of mercedes command...
