Installing headrest DVD to permanent power

Featured Replies

Hello dear all,

I have a 05 Octavia II, and I would like to install my recently purchased DVD players inbuilt in headrests.

However I would like it to be permanently connected to the power, so I dont have any loose cords in the car for power to the cigar-lighter.

I have four cables coming out of the connector box for the two dvds, these are:

Red (ACC)

Yellow (B+)

Black (GND)

Brown (IR Out)

I can tell that the B+ and GND should be directly attached to the battery (maybe with a fuse inbetween), but where can I attach the ACC and IR Out cable?

I can understand that the power for the cigarette outlet is always ON, so that might be an option for connecting the B+...

Do you know any DIY guides for this procedure...

All the best, Dino

there are a number of you tubes showing how to hard wire the dvd player to the fuse box. Can you tell me if you managed to install the dvd player? if so did you manage to get the wires down and out the back of the seat? if so can you tell me how you did it.

regards eric
