please has anyone had this problem.

My passenger door will not open from the outside after I unlock on the plipper.

If I don't lock and unlock on the plipper it works fine.

It will open from the outside after unlocking with the plipper if I just pull on the interior handle but not enough to open the door--just to pull the interior handle and release.

Is it a drop of oil fix or worse. It seems nasty to me and pricey --it is not getting some sort of electronic signal.

Any one had this please.

Does it open if you use the internal central locking button on the centre console?

Answer---no.

But it did used to--if I jiggled very quickly from lock to unlock and back many times I could sometimes make it work but my wife did not like waiting in the rain

Have you tryed double taping unlock on your remote twice? As most cars now work this way. Sorry if youve tryed ths or all ready know this.

Sounds like the door lock actuator has failed.

It's a very common problem on the Mk5 Golf, for some reason it's not so common on the Octavia despite the part being identical.

Do you have any idea of the price of an acctuator and labour involved.

Sounds a bit painful to me.

Looks like the part is about £120 from the dealers. There are always a few second hand on ebay for about £35.

I'd guess 1 hours labour to replace it.
