interior lights.

Featured Replies

does any body know what lights in the interior have to be canbus ready when fitting LED lights.

thankyou.

Although it will not show on dash, it will show up on vcds/vagcom

Door lights, puddle lights and footwell lights(here can be disable sensing)

As for the roof lights I do recomend the center tubular to be canbus otherwise they(including other 2) will stay on just a tad when car locked.

I had some non-CAN bus LED festoon bulbs fitted to the interior lights with no problems on VCDS or with them staying on a little.

They were cheap ones from eBay.

Based upon that, I'd so no they don't.

AFAIK, it is only exterior ones that need to be CAN bus ones.

Being a Blackline model we are talking about a FL model not Pre-FL.

I can't say specifically about the Blackline (but it is basically a run out FL Octavia), but the interior light fittings are identical in both FL and pre-FL Octavia and the CAN bus controllers are basically the same in both, so see no reason why it would be different.

I've read many threads on this forum (relevant to both pre-FL and FL) and can't recall any stating that interior LED's having to be CAN bus controlled.

If I'm wrong, I'll happily stand corrected.

On the FL model the card door lights and the mirror puddle lights are controlled.

Altough no error will show on dash it will show when scaning with the vcds/vagcom.

As for the roof lights, they aren´t controlled, as I said the center bulb(tubular) shoud be canbus otherwise when lockinbg the car they(center and the 2 sideones) will remain on very slightly, The 2 side ones donnot have to be canbus.

You will only need 1 canbus tubular, I have one at front and one at rear so the light colour can be the same
