VRs bumpers will fit onto a non-VRs skoda right? I don't really see why it wouldn't be a simple straight swap? (Then again, nothing is simple!)

Yes both bumbers are a staight swop. But with the front drls it can be tricky to wire up unless you have drl bulbs in fogs.
