Skoda Superb 1.9tdi 130 Edition 100 *sold*

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm not 100% sure I want to sell my big bus, but her indoors insists that we need a smaller car ('We don't need two big cars....')

I have a Skoda Superb 1.9tdi 130bhp Edition 100 2005/55 plate that I am looking to downsize a bit. If you know your Superbs then you’ll know this is the flagship model with all the bells and whistles. It is an Elegance spec with additives :) The mileage is a shade under 130k. Not a taxi!

Lifted from another post (thanks to estorilblue!):

Black Magic Pearl Paint (only colour available)

Sunset Privacy Glass , B- Pillar Back.

It also has the following options that are exclusive to the Edition 100:

Limited edition Grey Leather seats (usually only Black or Cream available)

Now add that to the following STANDARD spec.....

5 Speed Manual (plus reverse = 6 speed....? lol )

Bi-Xenons

17" Alloys

Colour MFD Sat Nav DX + 2005 Uk Disc

The car has had extensive work carried out in the last year including:

Front N/S CV joint replaced

Both CV boots replaced

Rear shocks replaced

Alternator replaced

Cambelt/water pump done

Radiator replaced

Head skimmed and head gasket replaced (professionally by VAG specialist – receipts to prove) as the car was losing coolant. Proven to be a failed head gasket.

Camshaft and followers replaced at the same time as they were showing evidence of the hardening wearing.

Badges replaced with black and silver ones from the Citigo.

It also has a comprehensive service history with many receipts and MOT’s along with a fully stamped service book.

Any inspection would be welcome – it’s absolutely spot on at the moment aside from the N/S passenger door not unlocking on the remote, though the car is going in for a repair to this on Tuesday 22nd. It’s simply a case of the door PCB failing and requiring replacement.

No water ingress issues. All courtesy features work. Most of the interior bulbs have been swapped for LED’s. All accessories (including footrests and umbrella) are there. I removed the CD changer early in my ownership (it was crap) and replaced it with a Phatnoise system to compliment the DSP (digital sound processor) which can be controlled from the head unit. This gives you a 20GB hard drive to put your music on. Also fitted is a 3.5mm input in the glovebox, so if you want to plug your mobile in and listen to the music on that, you can :)

All in all she’s in good nick.

Ideally I’d entertain a smaller fuel efficient car (diesel or petrol – so long as it returns over 40mpg easily) – something like a Honda Civic 1.8 Vtec or CDTI or even an Audi A2. It’d need to have no issues (as mine will have none).

Alternatively I’d look to sell my Edition 100 for £3600 ONO. I think that’s a pretty fair price for so much car!

New pictures - hot off the press!

What's the mileage?

As a comparison, I bought my Edition 100 from a dealer recently, with 57K on it, (and history now it's turned up!), for £4790, so £3600 sounds like a good price to me.

If you did decide to sell, I might know someone who would be interested.

Sorry - that might help. Added to op. 130K miles.

Ask your person to get in touch. If I can sell it for a fair price then I will.

By the way - whereabouts are you?

Leighton Buzzard :)

The price is relatively flexible, I do really need to downsize :/

WOW! LOADS of car for the money, we had one in the showroom at work when I worked for a Skoda dealer and they are sooo well specced, plenty of car for the money and as you all know, these engines go on and on and on and on.....flexible with good power and economy, if only I had the spare cash I would bite his arm off!

Anyway, I don't but just to testify to the brilliance and value that is the Edition 100!

GLWTS!!

Yep loads of car there for the money, great spec.

One piece of info missing, unless I've missed it somewhere.

What year/plate is it?

It'll be 2005/6 on a 55 I'll wager.

Replied Dan.

I looked at one of these june last year down near Portsmouth,

Complete wreck and they want £6k(forget the mileage think it was 70kish).

There was another low mileage(IIRC around 30k) in the midland for £6k .

the only one on autotrader is £6k and that is a 2.5l with 64k

Lot of motor for the money and they don't come up often.

Should sell.
