Cracking From MDI and AUX

Featured Replies

Hey,

Just got my new Monte Carlo around 3-4 weeks now, loving it. Having a slight issue with crackling coming from the MDI interface when using my iPod and iPhone, and when using the AUX jack its the same issue.

When listening to say a quiet song, you can hear there is a loud crackle that comes from all the speakers, not just one. I have tried another AUX cable and its the came issue, and I have tried with various devices with the same song on them all and its the same issue. Testing the devices on say a speaker dock with a AUX in, there is no cracking.

When using the MDI connector with my iPod, the issues remains in where it crackles through songs. I'm also using the official Skoda MDI to iPod connector.

Its not at any certain time, it happens wether the car is moving or not. The noises aren't consistent in by that I mean its not at the same part of the song.

It isn't a massive issue, but I wanted to share and see if anyone else has had similar problems? Im 100% sure its not an issue with the iPhone or iPod or the music track or cables.

Do you guys think its worth a visit to the dealer? And could it be and issue with the SWING headunit?

Thanks,

Stu.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having the same issue with my swing unit as well in a fab vrs, there also seems to be an issue with the speaker balance jumping from right to left, going to speak to them tomorrow,

It's driving me mad

there is a volume input level on the setup menu of the head unit. set it to 'low' for best results.

if its already on low, then there may be a plug/cable loose or not sitting correctly

Wrong forum! Too many tabs...
