The glow plug light has started to flash on my dashboard recently. It first appeared a few weeks ago once for 20 seconds and stayed away but it is coming on more frequently now and for longer. There is no loss of performance at all when it happens.

I know it can sometimes mean the brake light bulbs have gone but I have managed to check these a few times while the light was flashing and they are working fine at all times. I bought a new brake light switch when the light first appeared as it was only a few quid so that’s on hand if I need it. I am going to pop into a local mechanic tomorrow to get the codes read first in case its anything else. Hopefully it’s only the switch needs replacing!

I had it hooked up to the diagnostics this morning and indeed it was the brakelight switch at fault even though the brake lights were still working fine.
