Disabling N249 valve

Featured Replies

Has anybody tried to disable or remove their N249 valve and notice any improvementst?

What i understand from it this valve is used as a fail safe device which can releave pressure from the turbo by opening the DV with vacum stored in the vacum canister on top of the engine. The ECU also uses this device to quickly lower the pressure in the turbo when the pressure is higher than requested boost. This could cause someting like surging i've read. I've also read that Earlier 1.8T engines didn't had this device.
