noobie getting a vrs tomorrow

Featured Replies

hiya

im from ooop north -leeds, buying a black vrs tomorrow, wanted one cos i`m not a badge snob and i know the 1.9 diesel goes like stink and is uber reliable. it will be used for day to day usual stuff but wanted something nippy and frugal. theyre not the prettiest things standard but ive seen some nice ones on here

there are 3 things i`m going to do straight away

remapped - anyone know a good tuner near leeds who`s cheap to do the standard 170 hp remap (not rs tuning -long story)

blacken the chrome grill insert

lower it, ive seen the 30mm and 40 mm springs, i dont want it slammed but i want it low enough to look right and still be able to keep the driveability, have you seen the roads up here.

any other advice accepted willingly

cheers steve

Hi Steve I live in Bradford :) I got my car remapped by a company called VTune in Leeds they transformed my car and it was a good price! Get some piccys up when you get it! It's not the one for sale at the bottom of hollins hill by any chance with presses plates? 05 plate :).

Plastidip will do your chrome surround nicely, you can buy cans from ebay, easily peels off if you mess it up.

the lowering springs you found that are around 40mm would be for the standard fabia, the Vrs already has slightly lower spring standard so you would find it drops only a little, for just springs the eibach 25mm ones would go down well, seem quite popular for a subtle drop, if you want more then its going to have to be coilovers

cheers for the replies.

i have been doing a bit of research on lowering it, its not simple is it, why is the bloody thing so high in the first place.

i could get a shock/spring combo with a 40mm drop but apparently these will only drop it slightly. apparently the vrs is 15mm lower anyway but the shock setup is advertised for the vrs so it should lower 40mm more if its advertised for the vrs.

didnt really want coilies, my other car is for that kind of thing. anyone recommend a cheap set of coilies which arent hard , wanted oe ish kind of ride. ive seen some maxx ones or something like that for 350, i`ll find a pic on here of the ride height i`m after

No worries pal I'm Savin for some collies Evan thogh roads are **** gna save for some ap's I think want comfort nt jus lows
