Fabia I vs Octavia I reliability

Featured Replies

We have two Octavia Mk 1's which we (at least I) am very pleased with. SWMBO winges that the Octavia is too big and she can't park it - "how about getting a Fabia instead?". At this point I always say that the Ocatvias are much more reliable than the Fabias.

I've never owned a Fabia - this is just a general impression I've got from this forum and reading around on the Internet.

But am I right?

I would say no. I have had two MK1 octys and we have a 03 polo now and I'd say they were all the same. I would describe them all as average reliability.

I personally think that at the age you are talking about reliability is going to be more based on how the cars have previously been treated.

So between an Octy mkI and a Fab mkI there will be little difference based on design and how they were when new.
