Will the new 2013 Columbus unit in the Octavia III fit older cars?

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a link for the user manual for the new columbus heat unit as fitted in the new octavia III?

Want to know if it has an AV Input, rear camera input, DAB and Tv tuner?

Also if it is a higher spec can it fitted in to a 2012 Superb as a direct replacement?

Is it the same size and does it have the same connects?

It's a different shape to the MKII's Columbus:

......looks more Stream/Bolero shape to me. Also there's a distinct lack of CD/DVD & SD slots (?)

I did read somewhere that there is no written security code and that it can only be installed by a dealer hooking it up to the Great Skoda Computer.

Also, I think that Superb Bolero and Octavia Bolero are a different shape and size to each other, so a MKIII Octy Columbus could easily be different again. (But could be part of the Superb FL possibly, maybe?)

Read somewhere (on here actually) that the display is just that, a touch screen display, and the main workings are in the glovebox (presumeably including a CD/DVD slot).

It's just a rumour unless someone actually knows...

I sat in one last weekend. The slot for the CD player and SD card were in the glovebox. That was a Bolero headunit fitted to an Octavia III SE.

Think it's safe to say that the MKIII Octavia headunits will only work in the MKIII Octavia's then.
