Featured Replies

Hi

i just noticed that i seem to have an oil leak running out lower engine cover

it is under the intercooler area.

Before dropping cover down , i just wodered if there should have been

o rings on the hoses that fit into inter cooler ?

I seem to recall reading something about this a while back?

would this let oil seep out as i fitted 2nd hand intercooler not long back

After a bit of a look around ! i believe the pipes going into intercooler

Are called charge hoses, so wondered if you get o rings for them and do they fit

on the back end of metal section of male connection or inside female end

Yeah you can get new seals for them. They're around £3 for the o-ring from any dealer.

Mine went a while ago. The new o-ring fixed the issue, but after a few thousand miles of spirited driving the same problem has returned. I don't suppose it helps that my turbo now boosts more than stock. I'm considering packing the seals out with some material to ensure a tighter fit. Not sure how PTFE tape would hold up against heat, but may give it a try.

Sorry, can't remember part number for the seals. Just wander in and explain, they'll know.
