Road noise of new Octavia?

Featured Replies

Just read some reviews where people complain the loud road noises of new Octavia. I haven't test driven the car on a high way yet. What do you think? Are there any optional accessories that will cancel the road noises if they are that loud?

I test drove a 150 diesel elegance and it was much quieter than my CR vRS. I'd test drive one before worrying too much about its noise levels.

Compared to my current Superb, my test drive with 2.0CR TDi Octy III over mixed roads, the Octy III also felt more refined, quieter and turned into corners better than expected. If I did not know about the changes under the skin from reports on here, I would have been non-the-wiser, it felt very composed. One of my main critisms of the Superb is that it seems to have a constant vibration through the drivers seat at speeds over 50mph and before anyone jumps down my throat, it is not wheel balance or alignment issues as it has been checked out several times and nothing was found, also has had 3 sets of tyres all round over the 85k I have done in it with minimal difference, but does feel slightly better on a new set. I even took out a dealer demo to compare at one point and that was the same so hoping the Octy will be more comfortable on long runs.
