Tow chariot forward slash workhorse

Featured Replies

So after having a dabble at offroading I got bored!

Since getting the kids a quad I decided I wanted another moto x bike (got to wait till after hols), My bro's got a cr125 so I just go on that for now.

Took this in part ex on the discovery, its nothing special but I'm not fussed about that its here to do a job!

The car in question: mk4 astra sxi

Got a few extras

Lowered suspension

17" fox alloys

Cat back scorpion stainless

It came without a towbar so managed to acquire one on the cheap. Now after blowing a couple of fuses (trailer had a short) its all fitted and wired up.

Back box needs changing or altering as the box fouls the steel work

I have a few colours left from other cars so maybe if my boredom kicks in I'll do them.

Nothing major to update but its turning out to be a reliable little tool. Had no issues and its returning decent mpg :)

I did toy with the idea of getting rid as its just not me (slow as hell) but our lass has the vrs if I need a speed intake ;)

If I do decide to keep then ill chuck a c20xe in it as the c20let lumps fetch crazy money.

Couple of things that have happened tho are

1) bass

After having a garage clear out and finding all my old wiring I thought why not. I love my tunes with a bit of bass, asked about and turns out a mate had a 12" kenwood dvc in a box at the back of his unit so I grabbed it out of his way (free is always best). Its not a great thing and has battle scars but it works a treat now.

Hooked it all up as it came

But no matter what I did I sounded crap! Awesome low volume but turn it up and the bad disappeared.

Que a few texts to Lloyd for amp tweaking knowledge (if your ever stuck he's ya man) and the amp was set. Still no joy!

Decided to spin the sub

Double checked the box and found and extra port that was carpeted over so sealed that so its only tuning 1 port now and my god what a difference. Makes ya brain wobble now :)

Also gave it a polish for good behaviour

Back box will be changed as it fouls the towbar and a Wheel colour change is next as they've seen better days and already seem to have been sanded in preparation. Not sure on a colour yet tho so we'll see what's lurking in the garage ;)
