1.2 VRS Replica on T'ebay

Featured Replies

Think it's a CAT D from the description!

This seems too cheap

Edit...just noticed the CAT D....

That is one that you would be checking every Receipt for every part so as not to be getting a knock on the door for Reset.

(Its says 'low miles catd',

ie Category D, Vehicle damaged & Insurer has decided not to repair)

Strange description of the Standard vRS wheels 'upgraded with polished lip', sounds like describing Dark Chrome or Black ones not the ones in the pictures where no obvious Polished Lip.

You can not really say too cheap untill you know what they will accept,

advertised prices are often just to catch the eye like this one has,

now its getting a wider viewing on this Forum.

(seller also has a Overfinch Range Rover with an almost 18 grand asking price.)

Buyer Beware with that one i would think.

Looks identical to my 2010 vRS in every way other than the wheels, front door card, and until you open the bonnet.

There is a member here that rebuilt an Accident Damaged Fabia to look better than the Majority of new

vRS or Monte's right out of the showroom.

Would be fairly easy too find its history and damage? Must say it looks fine and dandy though which alarms me a little ! Someone has spent a lot of money spec ing this up to look like a vrs , we need a very good detective on this that can find out all its skeletons

There are lots of good Body Repairers out there, and many Legit Rebuilds.

Its their job, trade or hobby & work can be to the highest standards.

You just need to have all the Receipts for new or used parts to be safe.

& buyer beware or anything without a Picture & Paperwork record of the parts used to do the rebuild.

From the link above.

I thought all 1.2 engines were now tsi on 12 plate and that looks nothing like our monte engine.

I thought in 2012 you got a,

1.2 6v 60 ps 3-cylinder, & a 1.2 12v 69ps, in S, SE, SE Plus and Elegance models.

Because a car is first registered in 2012, it can be and older model that was sitting in Stock.

Also a Cat D can happen when the Vehicle is in Tansportation and has Zero Miles on the Clock and gets rebuilt before ever turning a wheel on the road.

Many cars in the UK were Flood Damaged on Garage or Storage lots.

These go through sales auctions and salvage.

So this car was damaged and the owner repaired it ad not an insurance company...?

I like how it states "No Time Wasters". IMO someone has wasted a LOT of time making a 1.2 look like a VRS. And at £7.5k for a cat D someone is having a right laugh. The conversation with an insurance company would be amusing. "Any modifications sir?"

Funny how the most important bit of info - the fact it is a cat D write off -has been tagged on the end almost like they were hoping nobody would notice!
