Central Locking Recode

Featured Replies

Hi All

Can anyone confirm that after a central locking recode on an Octy VRS the doors should unlock when the ignition key is removed from the ignition.

Having had the recode (swmbo's car so whe wanted it for peace of mind) the doors lock at approx 15mph but can only be unlocked by pressing the unlock button.

The local dealer is unsure about whether this works. They had me try a test by turning on the radio and removing the key. They wanted to know if the radio went off at this point.

They then said that this option may only be available on the fabia, even when the main Skoda website says its for the Fabia, Octy & Superb. After pointing this out to them they said they would get back to me. As yet no phone call.

Have they got the recode wrong or is something else wrong with my car?

Thanks for your help

It should unlock when the key is removed, but it does need to be coded for this. Is one code for the lock, another to unlock which sometimes gets forgotten.

Does the stereo turn off? Its a simple test to check if the 's' contact in the switch is working which is what tells the car to unlock.

Thanks for the advise. I will go back to the dealer later today.

Both functions (unlock and lock) can be easily coded through 'guided functions' on VAS 5051.

The latest VAG-COM software with its drop down dialogue boxes also makes the task easy to accomplish.
